The nightlife destination taking over the spot of the former Oasis Wynwood is finally starting the party.

After a few delays, Throw Social, which already has locations in Delray Beach and Washington, D.C., opens its doors just in time for Super Bowl weekend. The creation of entrepreneur Ginger Flesher-Sonnier of The Ginger Brands, the venue features live entertainment, dining, drinking and outdoor games like cornhole, LED ping pong and shuffleboard.

Flesher-Sonnier says Throw Social Miami stands out for the transformation of the space, including the towering (naturally) Tower Bar made of old shipping containers, which has been revamped and repainted in Throw Social tones of green and pink.

“We’re thrilled to bring our signature interactive vibe to the Wynwood district, where guests can unwind with live music from both high-energy bands and DJs, dive into fun games and relax in our lounge areas,” Flesher-Sonnier said in a statement, adding that “thoughtful enhancements elevate the experience.”

The venue ranges across 35,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space, with bars in the place of the containers that once housed food vendors like New York’s Prince Street Pizza (which has now opened its own restaurant in Miami Beach). There are VIP cabanas for celebrities and high rollers in the outdoor courtyard, which also features an entertainment stage for DJs and live entertainment.

The main indoor space is the Villa, with tropical cherry blossom designs and 275 seats for dining on shareable dishes like coconut shrimp, a bourbon-glazed jerk chicken sandwich and a variety of flatbreads (gluten-free and vegan crusts available). There are also salads on the menu and even an Adult Happy Meal (a hamburger, fries and a Painkiller cocktail in a rose gold pineapple cup).

Throw Social also offers weekend brunch, with pancakes, French toast and egg sandwiches as well as the requisite bottomless mimosas or Bellinis. You can also order shareable cocktails for the table, like the Pink Flamingo Punch Bowl, Galaxy Spaceship or the signature Purse Punch Bowl.

Throw Social also offers two other separate spaces, the private event space called the Palm Room and the Indigo Garden, a retreat with its own bar access and outdoor patio seating.

The big celebration of the weekend, of course, is the Super Bowl (and its even bigger halftime performer, Bad Bunny). Throw Social’s party, which begins at 5 p.m., features a 22-foot screen, an all-you-can-eat buffet and games. Tickets run from $277 for cabanas for 10 to $11 general admission.
