Individual tickets go on sale Aug. 11 for two of the McKnight Center’s premiere performances.
Star of stage and screen Hugh Jackman will headline the McKnight Center’s Bright Night Gala Concert 6 p.m. Sept. 12. The following day The McKnight Center will present “One Night Only: An Evening with Sutton Foster and Kelli O’Hara.”
According to a press release from The McKnight Center, Jackman is planning a performance of songs from “The Greatest Showman,” “The Boy from Oz,” and “The Music Man.”
“This performance is occurring at only two other venues in the entire country – Radio City Music Hall and the Hollywood Bowl – which underscores our mission to bring bold, exceptional artistry to Oklahoma,” said Mark Blakeman, the McKnight Center’s Marilynn and Carl Thoma Executive Director. “Bringing Hugh Jackman to The McKnight Center is not only an incredible artistic achievement, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our audience.”
The Gala opens with a 5 p.m. cocktail reception for ticket holders, followed by Jackman’s performance and wraps up with an invitation only dinner for McKnight Center Director’s Circle Donors and Gala Sponsors.
Foster’s and O’Hara’s performance will be a tribute to Julie Andrews and Carol Burnett.
“This concert is a masterful homage to two legendary women whose influence on American performance is immeasurable,” Blakeman said. “To see Sutton and Kelli step into this legacy, accompanied by the Oklahoma City Philharmonic, is a special moment for our community.”
Broadway star and Oklahoma native O’Hara was part of the McKnight Center’s inaugural season.
