“Taylor is from Connecticut and James is from California, so there was always going to have to be travel involved for our guests,” they explain. “Taylor studied in London for a theatre tour and the romanticism of London left such an impact.”
When Taylor and James went venue touring in London, they instantly knew that The Ned Hotel London was their venue. The two wanted to highlight the venue’s deep burgundies and “vintage-inspired” details, so they decided to lean into what was already there.

“The goal was for everything to feel romantic, timeless and like stepping into a really beautiful candlelit dinner party,” they share.
The two tapped Rebecca K Events to transform the sixth floor of The Ned into the wedding of their dreams, while Mia Sylvia created “beautiful drapery” space. for the Guests started in the Drawing Room for a pre-ceremony champagne toast before heading into the Saloon for the ceremony.
“We always loved the idea of getting married at a hotel where everyone could stay together and the wedding felt bigger than just one night,” the couple explained.
When it came time for the ceremony to begin, a wedding string quartet based out of London played Your Song by Elton John — which is also the song James proposed to Taylor to. The quartet then switched to play At Last by Etta James while the bride and groom walked down the aisle.
During the ceremony, Taylor and James exchanged personal vows while their former theatre professor from Chapman University, Michael Nehring, officiated. The two credit him with once telling them, “You two should marry each other so I don’t have to travel twice to visit both.”
Taylor wore a semi-custom Danielle Frankel halter gown with hair done by José Domene and make-up by Iryna Borysova, while James opted for a Ralph Lauren purple label tux. Taylor also wore the diamond and pearl earrings her dad gave her mom on their wedding morning, as well as her mom’s original wedding ring.

“I wanted something simple and chic that still felt like me, and something I could change up with chic accessories throughout the night,” she explains.
Instead of a wedding party, Taylor and James enlisted their nieces and nephews to be honorary bridesmaids and groomsmen. They also tapped their siblings to give dual speeches in place of a maid of honor and best man.
After Taylor and James said “I Do,” guests were escorted to the outdoor terraces for cocktails before a seated, three-course meal in the Tapestry Room to the tune of Dancing in the Moonlight by King Harvest. “Our favorite song when we started dating,” they explain.
At dinner, guests enjoyed a meal which featured San Danielle ham compressed melon creamed ricotta and Madeira reduction and beef fillet ox cheeks.

There was also a Humble Crumble station, which offered customizable, artisan fruit crumbles with signatures toppings like hot custard or frozen yogurt.
Taylor and James kicked off a night of celebrations by dancing to Can’t Take My Eyes Off You by Frankie Valli. “The perfect mix of slow and fast,” they share. “We did dance lessons for a choreographed dance, which was equal parts fun and hilarious.”
DJ Carly Foxx kept the party going, while guests were able to get their live portrait done by Joy Marie Howley. The party featured invitations and venue illustrations by Cierra Biles, as well as production by Matt Maurice Events.

James popped the question to Taylor on June 17 while the two were on vacation in Florence, Italy. He knelt on one knee in a romantic, reserved area overlooking the Arno River while a violinist serenaded the couple.

Looking ahead to their future, the two share that they can’t wait to experience life together.
