Timothée Chalamet weighs in on movie promotions and theatres release
Timothée Chalamet has recently shared his honest thoughts on movie promotions and theatres release.
The Marty Supreme star made his appearance at the Los Angeles Theatre for a Q&A session on February 14, where he talked about his past projects with Netflix and missing out the traditional theatrical release.
During the conversation, Chalamet admitted he enjoyed promoting his movies and even the press tours as well.
Speaking to DJ and Apple Music podcast host Zane Lowe, the Wonka actor said, “If you put out a movie theatrically, what I’ve felt — based on my experience with The King or Don’t Look Up — is that it’s just more of a moment.”
Chalamet explained, “It sounds like cheesy marketing talk, but it’s more ceremonial. It’s more drumroll.”
“And I think it’s hard when something goes direct to streaming … to do that,” noted the 30-year-old actor.
Interestingly, Chalamet further said that he’s a proponent of theatrical release more than movies released on streaming giants.
“I was going to contrast my prior point there, but then people supported it with applause and now I’m afraid,” remarked the Dune actor.
Meanwhile, Chalamet also opened up that he could not relate to his contemporaries who don’t enjoy movie promotions.
“I mean, I relish it,” declared the Call Me By Your Name actor.
Chalamet added, “This is the aspirational hip-hop part of me.”
