Today Show entertainment news: John Farnham won’t sing in public again; Tribute concert planned; Boss Cat people with disabilities film; Celine Dion TV series coming.

In some very sad news this morning, music legend John Farnham has confirmed he will never sing in public again, following his battle with oral cancer.

A huge lineup of local and international stars will unite for a megaconcert in Melbourne, to celebrate the You’re The Voice singer’s career and raise funds for cancer charities.

The likes of Richard Marx, Celine Dion, Hugh Jackman, Keith Urban, Jimy Barnes, Human Nature and more will perform some of Farnham’s greatest hits with his very own band.

The concert is set for September 20 and tickets go on sale on Tuesday, through Ticketek.

Speaking of Celine Dion, her story is headed to the small screen with a series called Growing Up Dion in the works.

It will look at her childhood and early career highlights, as one of 14 siblings, with the family all on board with the project.

The series is based on the book, Dion: A Family Saga, which was written by Dion’s nephew, Jimmy Dion.

And this morning we are proud to give you a first look at Boss Cat, a film by Bus Stop Films, which supports people with disabilities and helps build skills and connection.

Boss Cat is written and directed by pioneer filmmaker Genevieve Clay-Smith and stars Olivia Hargroder as Sonja, a proud member of the downs syndrome community.

Sonja embarks on a quest of independence, empowerment and identity, through the performance of crump dancing.

Boss Cat premieres Sunday, June 7 at the Sydney Film Festival and will be released in cinemas December 3 – International Day of People With Disabilities.
