Savannah Guthrie was left disappointed on Tuesday, July 14 after her co-stars got an exciting update. After Carson Dalyshared big news about the TODAY show, Savannah had a surprising response.
“I wanted to make sure to mention this, [there’s] a little something to celebrate this morning,” he said, adding: “The Daytime Emmy nominations came out and our 3rd Hour and TODAY With Jenna & Friends [are] up for Best Daytime Talk Show.”
“We’re going head to head,” Jenna Bush Hager joked, when Savannah chimed in with a laugh telling Carson: “Everybody here’s nominated but us.”

While the morning show anchor was briefly disappointed by the update, Al Roker made sure to clear things up.
“By the way Savannah, you guys are nominated in a different category,” the meteorologist said, noting that Savannah, Carson, and Craig Melvin earned a nomination in the news category for their work.
Over the years, Savannah has been nominated for multiple Emmy Awards and has won twice. In 2008, she won a News & Documentary Emmy for NBC News’ coverage of the 2008 election and in 2020, she and the Today team won a Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Morning Show.

The 54-year-old journalist has been on the TODAY show for 15 years, first joining as the co-host of the 3rd Hour. In 2012, she was made the co-anchor of the morning news program. And while Savannah’s covered many tough stories, this year has been her hardest.

In February, her mom Nancy Guthrie, went missing from her home in Tucson, Arizona. The 84-year-old was believed to have been taken from her home in the early hours of February 1, 2026, shortly after she was dropped off by her daughter AnnieGuthrie and her husband Tommaso.
Savannah and her family, including her sister and brother, CamronGuthrie, have made several public pleas for any information as to her whereabouts, even offering a $1 million reward.

The FBI and the local Pima County Sheriff’s Department have since joined forces in the investigation into her disappearance, which has hit multiple starts and stops over its five months.
Since then, Savannah has taken several lengthy breaks from TODAY. She was off air from early February until Monday, April 6 as she spent time with her family to search for her mother.
On July 1, Savannah said on her family’s behalf: “It is five months of agony and unending trauma for our family. There is not a moment that goes by that we aren’t actively trying to find our mom.”

Recently, Savannah took time off to be with her family and friends, and was seen enjoying the Norway vs. Brazil World Cup match with her husband, Mike Feldman, her co-host Craig, and his wife, Lindsay Czarniak.
