PUTNEY — Next Stage Arts presents Tone Forest, a contemporary jazz trio with pianist Miro Sprague, guitarist Jason Ennis and bassist Marty Jaffe, on Saturday, June 20, at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.
With deep roots in Western Massachusetts, Tone Forest creates music that transcends genre boundaries, blending jazz, global music traditions and improvisation into a sound that Next Stage says is both sophisticated and deeply expressive. The trio incorporates influences from across the globe, weaving together elements of swing, samba, baião, New Orleans street rhythms and other folk traditions. Longtime friends and collaborators, Sprague, Ennis and Jaffe approach the trio as a true collective, embracing an spontaneous style that ensures no two performances are ever the same.
Tickets are $22 in advance, $26 at the door and $10 for a livestream option. For tickets and more information visit nextstagearts.org.
