Top things in Fort Worth this weekend (Apr 3-May 3, 2026)

It’s a weekend full of big events in and around Fort Worth, including a spring festival, CultureMap’s annual Tastemaker Awards, a national Broadway tour, and NASCAR races. Other choices include an esports championship, screenings of an acclaimed British film, two comedians, a local theater production, two concerts, and a youth theater festival.

Below are the best ways to spend your free time this weekend. If you want more options, check out the calendar for an even longer list of the city’s best events.

Thursday, April 30

Trinity Collaborative presents Mayfest
Mayfest is an annual four-day family festival that features live music, festival food, carnival rides, performing arts, pet adoptions, more than 100 art and gift market vendors, free children’s activities, special attractions, and more. The festival takes place through Sunday at Trinity Park. For a complete guide to parking, discounts, and more, head to this story.

2026 CultureMap Fort Worth Tastemaker Awards
The CultureMap Tastemaker Awards return to celebrate Fort Worth’s top restaurant and bar talent for 2026. The mission is to shine a spotlight on the people and places that make Fort Worth a world-class culinary destination. CultureMap’s signature tasting event and awards ceremony (hosted by local TV news personality Marc Istook) will celebrate all of the nominees and unveil this year’s winners. Guests will enjoy an evening full of chef-prepared bites and specialty drinks. The event takes place at The Social Space.

Broadway at the Bass presents Monty Python’s Spamalot
Monty Python’s Spamalot is a musical comedy that is lovingly ripped off from the film classic, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. It has everything that makes a great knight at the theatre, from flying cows to killer rabbits, British royalty to French taunters, dancing girls, rubbery shrubbery, and, of course, the Lady of the Lake. Spamalot features songs like “Always Look on the Bright Side of Life,” “The Song That Goes Like This,” “Find Your Grail,” and more. There will be six performances through Sunday at Bass Performance Hall.

The event takes place through Sunday at Dickies Arena.

Magnolia at the Modern: I Swear
I Swear is a dark comedy based on the life of Scottish activist and campaigner John Davidson MBE, who was diagnosed with Tourette’s Syndrome at a young age. Set in 1980s Britain, the story follows John (Robert Aramayo) throughout his troubled teens and early adulthood, exploring his attempts to live a “normal” life with the little-known and entirely misunderstood condition. The winner of Best Picture and Best Actor at the BAFTA Awards, the film will screen five times through Sunday at the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth.

Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer — in case he or she decides to strike again. The production runs through May 17 at Theatre Arlington.
