Travis Kelce Drops Hint on What Fans Can Expect From Taylor Swift’s Upcoming Album originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Taylor Swift made her podcast debut on Wednesday night when she appeared on the New Heights show, co-hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason.
The episode, which ran for well over an hour, even crashed at one point with millions of viewers tuned in—a surge some predicted given Swift’s popularity and her announcement of her upcoming album, “The Life of a Showgirl” set to drop on Oct. 3.
This will mark Swift’s 12th studio album and her first release since The Tortured Poets Department in April 2024. According to Kelce, fans should expect a very different sound this time around.
Travis Kelce Gives Hint About “The Life of a Showgirl”
On the podcast, Kelce hinted that he’s already heard some—if not all—of the new music, describing it as a “complete 180” from her last album.
“It’s a lot more upbeat. It’s a lot more fun pop. […] It’s a complete 180 from the songs on ‘Tortured Poets’ for sure.”
Taylor Swift also revealed during the episode that the album will feature 12 songs, with the only announced collaboration being a track with pop star Sabrina Carpenter.
Swift has largely stayed out of the spotlight for much of 2025. While she did regain ownership of her masters earlier this year—a tremendous milestone in her career—this will mark her first new music release of the year. With it being the first album since reclaiming all of her music, it’s expected to be a particularly special project for her and her fans.
“I wanted the album to feel the way my life felt,” Swift said. “And this completely matches the way that my life has felt.”
