Travis Kelce is ready to make some “core memories” over the Fourth of July holiday — which may also be his wedding weekend.
“Fourth of July weekend is right around the corner,” Travis, 36, said while promoting Expedia during the Wednesday, July 1, episode of his “New Heights” podcast with brother Jason Kelce. “America’s birthday.”
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end continued, “We all have that one Fourth of July trip we still talk about. … The one that turned a long weekend into a core memory.”
Travis also teased that the Fourth of July can be “hectic,” but can also make for “great memories.”
Travis and fiancée Taylor Swift are seemingly gearing up to make some epic memories this Independence Day weekend, as it’s reported that the couple will tie the knot at Madison Square Garden in New York City on Friday, July 3. The athlete and pop star, 36, have not publicly confirmed the date and location of their wedding, but several clues have pointed to something big happening at MSG.
For starters, NYC mayor Zohran Mamdani appeared to hint at the nuptials during a press conference earlier this month while discussing all the upcoming events happening in the city. However, he later played coy when asked if the rumors about Travis and Swift’s wedding were true.
“You know, what I am here to say is that whoever is getting married in New York City, I think it’s hard to beat the City Clerk’s Office but many will try and soon there will be more news,” he said on The Week. “Are you hearing that [it is Taylor and Travis’ wedding]? I think they’re calling me now.”
Mamdani, 34, teased the wedding again during a press conference on Tuesday, June 30.
“My recommendation to all New Yorkers is [to] stay inside and stay cool,” he said. “If you happen to be getting married at Madison Square Garden, you will be staying inside and you will be staying cool.”
Other clues have pointed to the venue, including a permit being filed to close the streets around MSG from Thursday, July 2, to midday on Saturday, July 4. A lilac-colored carpet was installed outside MSG earlier this week, TMZ reported. Trucks were also spotted delivering cartons marked with “Mirrorball” and “Garden Party,” which appear to be references to Swift’s music.
Still, the location of the couple’s wedding remains a mystery — even to its invited guests, a source exclusively told Us Weekly.
“Taylor and Travis told guests to be in NYC. No other location was provided,” the insider shared last week. “They’re putting their guests on hold for a couple days. They are spending a lot of money – in the millions.”
