Rising Texas death metal crew Tribal Gaze have announced their sophomore album, Inveighing Brilliance, which follows their great 2022 debut LP The Nine Choirs and last fall’s split with Deadbody. It drops on October 17 via Nuclear Blast (pre-order), and lead single “Beyond Recognition” is out now. It’s a real ass-kicker that’s got my hopes very high for this album, and here’s what guitarist Quintin Stauts says about it:
I think this album, like our others, is us trying to create memorable parts in songs. Parts that make you have to rewind and hear it again. The aim is always to make songs that we love listening to. We’re just trying to add something of value to the death metal world. Our single Beyond Recognition is a good representation of where we’re at mentally. Pissed during the fast parts, pissed during the slow parts.
Watch the David Brodsky-directed video below. Tribal Gaze are on tour now supporting The Acacia Strain (alongside Bodysnatcher, Ingrown, and No Cure, including an upcoming NYC show on August 21 at Irving Plaza.
After that, they’ll open Cattle Decapitation‘s Death Atlas tour alongside Aborted and Frozen Soul, including a return to NYC on December 2 at Warsaw. All dates for both tours are listed below.
