President Donald Trump shared a new reaction to King Charles III’s statement following last night’s shooting attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner on April 25, and then he continued to slam NATO due to major failures in the Iran conflict.
According to Trump, the King plans to still head to the United States, despite the violent night. Calling into Fox News on the morning after the turbulent events, he said, “First of all, King Charles is coming. He’s a great guy and we look forward to it.”
“Uh, he’s really a fantastic person, and a tremendous representative,” he said, before praising his bravery and recognizing his ‘severe’ health issues. “So, he’s coming and we’re gonna have a great time. And he represents his nation like nobody else can do it.”
He then slammed NATO, saying, “As far as NATO, I’m very very disappointed in NATO. Because they weren’t there. You know, we spend trillions of dollars on NATO, trillions, in order to protect Europe from Russia.”
“We’ve always been there and we would always be there. They can’t do it without us. And yet, when we wanted a little help – we didn’t need any help, we did it without any help, we didn’t really need help. And to be honest, I don’t think I’ve ever really said this before, but just out of curiosity, we’d just like to see if they would be there.”
