As an entrepreneur and billionaire, President Trump’s wealth is huge, but how much cash he carries is surprising.
The President, who has just returned from his historic state visit to the UK, has opened up on his money during a Fox News interview where he spoke about politics and TV pundits including Jimmy Fallon.
While being interviewed on The Sunday Briefing by Peter Dooley, the Fox News star asked the President, “If you’re going out for a meal now in Washington DC, how much money is in your pocket?”
Trump was nonchalant as he replied, “I’d say about $200. Probably $200. I’m not traveling too heavy.”
The cash sum might seem low, given that recent figures estimate Trump’s wealth to be at $7.3 billion, as reported by Forbes.
Earlier this year, Trump secured the 700th spot on the 2025 Forbes Billionaires List. The 78-year-old first appeared on the inaugural Forbes 400 list in 1982 alongside his father, Fred Trump, with a combined estimated fortune of $200 million. His wealth has always been rooted in real estate, but has expanded more widely in recent years.
The Forbes 2025 Billionaires List has a record-breaking 3,028 billionaires with a collective net worth of $16.1 trillion. At the top of the list is Donald Trump‘s once close advisor, Elon Musk, with an estimated fortune of $342 billion. Musk, who leads Tesla and SpaceX, retains his position as the world’s richest person ahead of Trump.
