Marla Maples has taken to Instagram to share a touching message for her ex-husband, President Donald Trump on Instagram.
The 61-year-old actress and wellness advocate posted on her Instagram Stories following a visit to one of her favorite spiritual spots, St. John’s Church. She said in the video, “I just left St John’s church, one of my favorites, where I did a prayer for our President and for our nation.
She added, “For more light might be exposed and that we cling to the divine and all that we do and believe good will prevail and we bring more joy to the world.” Maples and Trump first met in the late 1980s, while he was still married to his first wife, Ivana.
Their relationship made instant headlines when it emerged that Maples was the woman at the center of one of the most notorious love triangles of the era. In 1989, the two women had a now-infamous confrontation on the slopes of Aspen.
Despite the tabloid frenzy, Maples and Trump’s love only grew from there. Marla gave birth to the couple’s only child, Tiffany Trump, in October 1993 – just two months before the pair tied the knot at New York’s lavish Plaza Hotel in December.
Their wedding, attended by more than 1,000 guests, featured a Carolina Herrera gown and a $2 million tiara. Despite the fairy-tale setting, Maples has since admitted their relationship wasn’t meant to last.
“I thought I could change him,” she later reflected. “But I realized after several years that we’re just so different.”
The couple separated in 1997, finalizing their divorce in 1999. A strict prenuptial agreement left Maples with about $2 million — far less than she initially sought.
She was also bound by a confidentiality clause barring her from speaking publicly about much of their marriage.
Marla now focuses on health and wellness. She describes herself as a “mostly-vegan” who avoids dairy, eats organic and chooses to be gluten-free. She also joined Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’ Children’s Health Defense.
Maples recently shared a photo of taking part in a wellness track. She said, “Whew… this was a day! Even in the beauty of Croatia, we stayed true to our wellness track. Thanks to @drgroupofficial’s wonderful wife, raised right here in Croatia… we had Pilates, e-bikes, or mopeds ready in every port, crystalline waters to plunge into daily, plus the best clean, mostly vegan bites along the way.
