Taylor Swift’s 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl” dropped Oct. 3, and Baton Rouge is all in on celebrating the new era.
The 12-track album was produced by Swedish duo Max Martin and Shellback, with song titles like “Eldest Daughter,” “Father Figure” and “The Fate of Ophelia.”
The album is a celebration of pop, romance and glitz and glamour. These local businesses will be participating in themed events this weekend:
A world premiere
Watch the exclusive world premiere of her new music video, “The Fate of Ophelia,” along with behind-the-scenes footage Oct. 3–5 at these movie theaters:

Cookies for each era
Caroline’s Cookies, 110 Perkins Rowe and 7575 Jefferson Highway in Baton Rouge, has a full Swiftie-themed line up of 12 flavors — one for each era — to celebrate “The Life of a Showgirl.” Products are available at all locations until Monday, Oct. 6.
Taylor Swift night
Chelsea’s Live and Mood House are hosting a “Taylor Swift Night: The Life of a Showgirl” DJ set starting at 9:30 p.m. Saturday at 1010 Nicholson Drive. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 the day of, available to purchase here.
Listening party
Eloise Market and Cakery, 1940 Perkins Road, is hosting a listening party with Swift-themed treats and desserts Friday for its grand opening that coincides with the release of the new album. The party will continue until 8 p.m. and feature giveaways, friendship-bracelet-making and a photo booth.
Sunday brunch
Our Mom’s Restaurant and Bar, 250 W. Lee Drive, is hosting a Showgirl Sunday brunch 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, for the release of “The Life of a Showgirl” with Swift-inspired cocktails like “The Showgirl” and “Actually Romantic” — nods to songs on the album. On social media, the restaurant encouraged participants to come dressed for their era.
New track and fan favorites
SoLou, 2112 Perkins Palm Ave., Baton Rouge, is also hosting a Taylor Swift brunch with a “The Life of a Showgirl” listening party 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The party will feature DJ NATE spinning new tracks and fan favorites. Limited spots are available to book at www.eatsolou.com/reservations.
