Reporter Jasmine Carey believes Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie should not be present at Kate Middleton’s event following Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor being stripped of his honors. “While they are not involved in their father’s scandals and have not lost their royal titles like their parents have, Beatrice and Eugenie’s attendance could actually overshadow the event,” she wrote for the Daily Express. “Since Andrew has dominated the royal spotlight and plunged the royal family into a crisis over the last few months, Beatrice and Eugenie’s every move has been watched.”

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie are typically staples at Kate Middleton’s holiday celebration, but this year might look a little different. “Princess Catherine works hard for months to make sure the concert is a success and praises those in society who deserve recognition. This is what the headlines should be focused on,” Jasmine Carey said. “However, if Beatrice and Eugenie attend, it may well be yet another royal event that is somehow tarnished by mention of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s scandals.”

Kate Middleton began putting on the “Royal Carols: Together at Christmas” carol service in 2021. The gathering is held every year during the first week of December and honors people who serve their communities.

Due to his past ties to Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was stripped of his royal titles and forced to leave Royal Lodge. The former Duke of York also lost his Knight of the Order of the Garter and Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order honors. Queen Elizabeth II removed his military and charity patronages in 2022.

While Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have retained their titles, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, have been embroiled in the scandal. “The Yorks are an extremely close-knit family. The disgrace of Sarah Ferguson has followed that of Prince Andrew, who has become an international pariah,” royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams said. “Princess Beatrice andPrincess Eugenie will find their parents’ predicament devastating.”
