A member of the 2015 World Series-champion Kansas City Royals team has passed away.
Speedster Terrance Gore died at age 34, the team announced on Saturday.
The Macon, Ga., native enjoyed a unique MLB career, appearing in 110 regular-season games with just 74 at-bats as a pinch-running specialist.
Known for his speed, Gore stole 43 bases in his career, plus five more in nine post-season appearances. He also scored 33 regular-season runs and three more in the playoffs.
Gore debuted with the Royals in 2014, stealing five bases despite having just one at-bat in 11 games.
He appeared for Kansas City in each of the 2014 and 2015 playoffs, winning a ring with the latter group.
Gore later won his second title with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2020.
He also spent time with the Chicago Cubs and New York Mets during his eight-year career. He last competed in MLB in 2022 with the Mets, stealing three bases in 10 games.
