The Arkansas Cinema Society recently welcomed three new members to its board of directors: John R. Tyson, Jason Owen and Daniel Campbell. Tyson brings extensive business and nonprofit experience, while Owen and Campbell both offer years of experience in the entertainment industry.
Kathryn Tucker, executive director, said the new members’ backgrounds will help ACS in its mission to grow Arkansas’ filmmaking ecosystem.
“We couldn’t be happier to have John, Jason and Daniel join our board,” she said. “For an arts nonprofit to grow and thrive, we need a board with a diverse range of expertise. We love having a balance of Arkansas expats and homegrown talents who bring deep industry experience and a genuine desire to give back to Arkansas. Their knowledge and energy are exactly what ACS needs going into 2026 and beyond.”
An executive, investor and nonprofit board member, Tyson previously served as chief financial officer and chief strategy officer at Tyson Foods, where he today serves on the board of directors and is a member of the board’s strategy and acquisitions committee. Before joining Tyson Foods, he worked in investment banking and as a private equity and venture capital investor.
Owens is a visionary and trailblazer in the entertainment industry who serves as a keystone between Hollywood and Nashville. As founder and CEO of The Sandbox, a multiplatform, talent-first entertainment company, he is responsible for shepherding the careers of generation-defining artists and creating content across music, television, film, theater and live entertainment.
Campbell, an Arkansas-based filmmaker with more than a decade of experience in television, film and commercial production, began his career in production and casting for such acclaimed feature films as “Mud” and “Paradise Lost” before making his directorial debut with the award-winning short film “Antiquities” in 2009.
