Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor has been riddled with scandals over recent years that, over the last few months, have resulted in one of the biggest downfalls in modern royal history. While Andrew has always denied any wrongdoing or accusations against him, revelations from the Epstein files of the extent of his past friendship with the late convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein have seen the former prince lose many of his royal luxuries.
This includes his Royal Lodge home and the use of his royal titles, including his title the Duke of York. This would no doubt have been a blow for Andrew, who was given the title by his mother, the late Queen Elizabeth II.
While the title has not been officially taken from him, it is extant and will not be used by Andrew in public.
The title cannot be used by anyone else until Andrew passes away.
This will therefore be applicable to Louis, currently seven, when Prince William one day becomes King.

However, this is not set in stone, as William could avoid putting the title on his youngest son.
Instead, William could come up with a new dukedom for Louis when he is older – one that is not riddled with scandals.
Louis is not expected to be given a royal title, such as a dukedom, for some time, as the seven-year-old is in full-time education.
Dukedoms tend to also be given by the monarch on an occasion such as a wedding day, which, as the young prince is seven, will not happen anytime soon.
