A movie theater in upstate New York is offering a fun merchandise twist for “Freakier Friday” fans.
Marcus Theaters — a chain of cinemas with a single location in the Empire State — announced it’s selling collectable popcorn buckets and drink cups with swappable covers, which means the bucket can be used for soda and the cups can be used for popcorn.
The products’ debut aligns with the upcoming release of the “Freakier Friday” movie, a sequel to the 2003 hit film “Freaky Friday,” and are branded with the movie’s logos and designs. “Freakier Friday” features the same two stars — Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis — as the original Disney film.

How to get the ‘Freakier Friday’ collectibles in New York
Marcus Theatres is releasing a swappable popcorn bucket for “Freakier Friday.”
The swappable buckets and cups are currently available online at Marcus Theatres’ website as of Thursday, July 17, a company spokesperson told USA TODAY, and will be available in all locations — except Campus Cinema in Ripon, Wisconsin — when the movie hits theaters on Aug. 8.
Some theaters are holding “Fan First Screening” events where you’ll be able to purchase the specialty items on Aug. 6. Syracuse Cinema in Camillus is one of several locations partaking in this early showing and ticket buyers will also receive a “Freakier Friday” friendship bracelet set with the purchase of their ticket.
