Who is ready to be a star or, more likely, be a blurry background figure on the set of the latest film production hitting Oklahoma?
Well, now’s your shot.
The upcoming SAG-AFTRA feature film “South of Stillwater” is looking for 100 extras, ages 18 to 22, to fill out a bonfire scene filming just east of Oklahoma City in Spencer. Think smoldering flames, flannel shirts and the hustle and bustle of a Hollywood camera crew capturing the moment.
Filming is set for the nights of Oct. 22 and 23, with call times around 6 p.m. and production rolling well into the night. While casting prefers you can work both nights (because continuity, people), they’ll happily take you for one night only if that’s all you’ve got.
The gig pays $7.25/hour — but you’re guaranteed 10 hours of pay, even if things wrap early. Anything past that means extra gas money.
Here’s what they’re looking for:
All genders and ethnicities welcome
Must be able to work in Spencer, OK
And yes, you actually have to be over 18
No acting experience? No problem. Your job is to look like you belong around a bonfire. Show up, stay warm, look cool. Easy.
Ready to apply? Follow these steps exactly, or your application will be rejected:
Snap a current photo — shoulders up, nothing fancy, under 300KB. Rename the file to your name (like JaneDoe.jpg).
Email it to: [email protected]
Subject line: SOS BONFIRE 10/22 or SOS BONFIRE 10/23 or SOS BONFIRE BOTH NIGHTS

Pro tip: Put everything in one email. No double sends. No selfies from last year. No phone calls. If you’re picked, you’ll hear back by email — so keep your inbox refreshed like it’s Black Friday.
Background acting is the best low-pressure way to break into film — or at least get a killer story out of your weekday night. Plus, South of Stillwater could be the next indie darling. You might even make it into a wide shot, waving a Solo cup and looking like the next Timothée Chalamet.
So dust off your best fall outfit, bring your night owl energy and get ready to be a blur in the background of something big.
