WAUSAU, Wis. — Broadway is bigger than ever in the big reopening of Wausau’s The Grand Theater.
The theater released its lineup for the 2026-27 season on Monday night, featuring six Broadway shows. After a $17.5 million renovation project, it was only natural that the season should be as “grand” as the theater’s namesake.
“This has to be one of The Grand’s most exciting seasons in decades, not only for the caliber of performances, but also for the thrill of experiencing the transformation of this entire facility,” said Executive Director Sean Wright in a release.
“We wanted to create a season lineup that lives up to the moment of the Second Century renovation project. We are continually grateful for, and inspired by the enthusiasm for the performing arts in north central Wisconsin,” he continued.
First up in the Broadway series is the mystery whodunit and comedy “Clue,” which will sleuth in for a limited run this year, from Nov. 9-10, 2026.

Then, the 30th anniversary of “Riverdance,” dances on stage from March 12-13, 2027. Also in March will be three shows, from March 26-27, 2027, of “The Book of Mormon.”

But it’s not just Broadway that makes this season so “grand.” In total, there will be 38 shows between November 2026 and June 2027.
The Behavioral Health Clinic Family Series has five shows, including two around the holidays. From “Vienna Boys Choir: Christmas in Vienna” on Nov. 21, 2026, to “Who Brought The Humbug?” on Dec. 15, 2026, there’s a lot to enjoy.

As a part of this series, audiences can experience “Love Actually in Concert” just in time for the holiday season, on Dec. 11, 2026.

Some of the other notable acts in the upcoming season include the opening show at the Grand Theater, Wayne Newton on Nov. 7, 2026 and Jay Leno, who will bring his stand-up comedy to the stage on Jan. 22, 2027.
