Upcoming events this weekend in Central Texas include a horse show at the Cadence Bank Center, a fly-fishing workshop in Belton, a “Mallapalooza” event in Temple, farmers markets, live music and more.
Diamond Divas Pageant
Mercy House Assisted Living and Memory Care will hold the “Diamond Divas” beauty pageant at 1 p.m. on Friday at Redeemer Presbyterian Church, 12 W.French Ave. in Temple.
The pageant will celebrate the “remarkable women whose sparkle comes from wisdom, resilence and the beautiful stories they carry,” event planners said.
The pageant will include multiple categories: ages 65 and older independent; assisted living community; skilled nursing facility; help at home; and memory care community.

Mallapalooza
The fifth annual Mallapalooza will bring a touch of spooky fun to Temple Mall this weekend. The event, which has a theme of “Spring Screams,” will be held from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday at 3111 S. 31st St. in Temple
It will feature celebrity guests, cosplayers, a magician, a caricature artist, food trucks, a car show, live music and dance performances.
Special guests will include Leonora Scelfo, an actress from the horror film “Scream,” Billy Blair of “Bull Shark,” and Trisha Peters, who worked as a stunt double for Michelle Pfeiffer’s Catwoman. Actors from Silo of Screams, a Temple-based haunted attraction, also will be stationed throughout the mall to help bring the screams this spring.
Visitors also can expect to see Jack Sparrow and “Breaking Bad” cosplayers, along with screenings and merchandise from an independent horror film directed William Henstone.
Live music will be performed by Smokin Maxx Carter, and outside activities will include food trucks and a car show, a new addition this year, with more than 100 vehicles registered to participate.
Admission to Mallapalooza is free.
Comedy show
“Pretty Funny,” an all-female comedy show, will be held at 8 p.m. on Friday at Pinky’s, 201 N. East St. Suite B in Belton.
The show is sponsored by Basura Triangle and admission is $10 at the door.

An evening market will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday at the John Q. Thompson Pavilion, 201 E. Main St. in Troy.
A farmers market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Temple Feed and Supply, 21820 SE HK Dodgen Loop in Temple.
A farmer market will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday at Barrow Brewing Company, 108 Royal St. in Salado.
Sanctuary Enterprises and Mystic Maven Creations will hold the Second Sunday at Sanctuary April Market from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at 1010 S. Wall St. in Belton.
All the events, which are open to the public, will feature vendors selling locally sourced foods, arts and crafts and more.

Fly-fishing workshop
The city of Belton parks and recreation department will hold a fly-fishing workshop from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at The Landing at Creekside Park on Nolan Creek in Belton.
The program is geared toward adults and youth ages 10 and older who would like to learning the basics of fly fishing in a fun environment. Participants will have the opportunity to explore equipment and casting techniques, knot tying and line assembly, aquatic entomology and fish identification, regulations and ethics, and safety and stewardship practices.
Pre-registration is required. Also, fishing licenses are required for all participants age 17 and older. Reservations may be made at Rec.us/Belton.

Horse show
The Alamo Arabian Horse Association will hold its “Fiesta Show” today through Saturday at the equine/livestock complex at the Cadence Bank Center, 301 W. Loop 121 in Belton.
The event begins at 8 a.m. each day with activities running through each afternoon. There also will be special activities. A “Meet-a-Horse” and barn tour will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Visitors will have the opportunity to get up close and pet horses. A “Paint-a-Pony” arts and crafts activity for children will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The show is free and open to the public.
Bell County Museum sensory friendly morning
The Bell County Museum, 201 N. Main St. in Belton, will hold a sensory friendly program from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Visitors and children of all ages on the autism spectrum and with sensory sensitivities are invited to experience the museum with lower lights, softer sounds, and fun activities all before it opens to the public.
Attendees will have the opportunity to explore history, math, and more through the exhibits and fun activities. A quiet room is available for anyone who needs a brain break and sensory bags are available for rental for anyone in need.

‘Riding the Range’ at the Temple railroad museum
The Temple Railroad and Heritage Museum, 315 W. Ave. B in downtown Temple, will hold a special program, “Riding the Range: Vaquero Roots of the Cowboy,” at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Cowgirl storyteller Ramblin’ Rita will present several Texas tales.
“This cowgirl has traveled from the deserts of West Texas to the shores of the Gulf Coast and boy howdy, has she picked up some mighty tall tales along the way,” the museum said in a post on social media. “Her stories are perfect for audiences of all ages. Even better than that, she brings brave buckaroos up from the audience to help her act out her wild west stories! So, dust off your ten-gallon hat and saddle up for storytelling fun as big as Texas! Immerse yourself in the world of the vaquero and learn about the traditions that shaped the American cowboy. From horsemanship and roping to clothing, tools, and everyday language, discover how vaquero skills and practices influenced life on the range and left a lasting mark on Western culture.”
There will be guided activities for all ages and there will be free entry for the “Vaquero: Genesis of the Texas Cowboy,” exhibit.

Touch-a-Truck
The Bell County Public Health District will hold “Touch-a-Truck,” an event that showcases emergency response vehicles and other large vehicles, on Saturday at the Cadence Bank Center, 301 W. Loop 121 in Belton.
A soft opening for those with neurosensitivities will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. This part of the event will not have any flashing lights, horns or sirens. The event is open to the general public from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Attendees will have the opportunity to interact with emergency and service vehicles like fire trucks, helicopters, construction equipment, and more.
The program is open to the public.

Car meet-up events
The Belton Trucks and Tacos group will hold a meet-up for auto enthusiasts from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Taqueria Mexicano Grille at 261 Sparta Road in Belton. The event is open to all vehicles, not just trucks. Classic cars, custom cars and trucks, and muscle cars are all welcome.
Lost For Good and the Central Texas Car Meets group will hold a cars and coffee meet-up event in collaboration with First Street Roasters from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Sunday at the Santa Fe Plaza.
Car enthusiasts will show off their vehicles and share information about their passion for automobiles. The program is open to the public.

Rockin’ Rotary concert
“Rockin’ Rotary” an outdoor concert benefiting the Belton Rotary Club, will be held from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday at Schoepf’s BBQ, 702 E. Central Ave. in Belton.
The concert will feature music by Scratch 3 and Back in Black, an AC/DC tribute band, will headline the event.
Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. Reserved picnic tables (seats six) are available for and VIP tables (seats six) are available for $400.

Roses and Hoses 5K
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Morgan’s Point Resort Volunteer Fire Department will hold “Roses and Hoses,” a 5K run/walk, at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 11, at Oakmont Park, located at the end of Tanyard Road in Morgan’s Point Resort. Proceeds from the event will help support the fire department and community outreach projects.

Flower and art festival
A flower and art festival will be held from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, at 1420 N. Robertson Road in Salado.
The event will feature flowers, art, wine, live music and local vendors. Proceeds from the event will help support the Jarrell Community Library and Resource Center.

Chambers Smoke-Off
Amy’s Attic will hold the “Chambers Smoke-Off,” a barbecue cook-off benefiting Feed My Sheep, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at 7950 State Highway 317 in Belton.
In addition to barbecue, the event will include live music, a Kid’s Zone, local vendors, prize drawings and more.
American Legion car show
The American Legion Post 133-Temple will hold a car show Saturday, April 25, at 1300 S. 25th St. in Temple. This event is open to the public and free for spectators.
Gates open at 9 a.m. and the car show will begin at 10 a.m. Judging will be held at 1 p.m. and awards will be announced at 2 p.m.
There is a $25 fee at the gate for car show participants. Non-food or beverage vendors and sponsors also are sought. The fee is $20 for a 10-foot by 10-foot vendor space.
The American Legion Auxiliary Unit 133 will be selling food, drinks, and a bake sale for their fundraiser at the event.
Proceeds from the car show and bake sale will help support veteran programs.
Temple Drove 139 of the Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does golf tournament
The Benevolent Patriotic Order of Does will hold a golf tournament on Sunday, April 26, at Sammons Golf Course, 2727 W. Adams Ave. in Temple. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m. and tee-off will begin at 8:30 a.m.
The cost to participate is $100 per player, which includes breakfast, golf cart, range balls and lunch. Several prizes will be awarded, including first place, closest to the pin, and longest drive for men and women.
Hole sponsors also are sought. Sponsorship costs $50 and includes a sign made with sponsor’s name or logo.

Together We Heal Banquet
“Together We Heal,” a banquet to raise funds for the Body of Christ Community Clinic, will be held Thursday, April 30, in the McLane Great Hall at the Bawcom Student Union on the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor campus in Belton.
Doors will open at 5:15 p.m. The event will include a silent auction and keynote address by Charles “Skeeta” Jenkins.
Covenant Lutheran Church garage sale
Covenant Lutheran Church, 4202 Hickory, Temple, will hold its annual garage sale from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 2.
The event also will include a bake sale and sausage wraps, hot dogs and bottled water also will be available for purchase.
Proceeds from the sale will help the church’s youth attend summer camp.

TEF car show
The Temple Education Foundation will hold its second car show and contest from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, in the main parking lot of Temple High School.
Vehicles of all types are welcome — from classic cruisers and modern muscle cars to lowriders, imports, trucks and motorcycles. Early vehicle registration is available for $15, with day-of registration set at $25.
The event also is seeking sponsors. Sponsorships range from $250 to $2,000, and each level includes different perks such as social media promotion, signage at the event and complimentary car entries.

Better Together Benefit
The Belton Chamber of Commerce will hold the “Better Together Benefit,” an event to raise funds for local scholarships, from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, at The Commonwealth, 11830 W. Adams Ave. in Temple.
The event will feature live music from Jared Johnson, food and drinks, and casual pickleball play.
Wildflower Country Club 2026 Charity Classic
Wildflower Country Club, 4902 Wildflower Lane, will hold its two-part 2026 Charity Classic event benefiting the Invited Foundation and Feed My Sheep on Saturday, May 16, and Monday, May 18.
The first portion of the fundraiser is the Charity Classic Gala, which will be held at 6 p.m. May 16. The event will include a multi-course menu, live music, a prize drawing and keepsake portraits. Gala tables are included with event sponsorship. At this time, individual tickets are not available for the gala.
The other half of the event, the Charity Classic Golf Experience, will be held at 11 a.m. May 18. The event will include a pre-round lunch, team photographs, and a Shootout Finale on Hole 18 followed by a post-round reception.

Temple Children’s Museum
The Temple Children’s Museum will hold its annual pickleball tournament fundraiser May 22 and May 23 at The Commonwealth 11830 W. Adams. Ave in Temple.
This year, a kickoff party will be held 6-9 p.m. on Friday. May 22. The “Party With a Purpose” event will feature dinner, drinks and live music by Beau Heitmiller.
