Weezer, who shouted out the happy days of Buddy Holly and Mary Tyler Moore in one of their biggest hits, will hit the arena circuit during a 32-city tour stopping in Columbus.
“Weezer: The Gathering” tour will come to Nationwide Arena on Oct. 6, two years after the four-man band played at the venue during their “Voyage to the Blue Planet” tour.
Special guests The Shins and Silversun Pickups will open the show.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. April 3 at weezer.com.
Formed in LA in 1992, Weezer is behind the infectious power-pop songs such as “Undone (The Sweater Song),” “Buddy Holly,” “Say It Ain’t So,” “Island in the Sun,” and “Beverly Hills.”
The band is set to release a single, “Shine Again,” on April 1, ahead of their forthcoming, still-untitled new album.
