A few of the concerts originally scheduled to take place at the Columbus Athenaeum, 32 N. 4th St., have been moved to new sites after the building's owner, TempleLive closed its six venues nationwide.

The show must go on, but who knows when or how many?

At least four concerts originally scheduled at the Columbus Athenaeum have been moved to other venues, while numerous other shows appear to be in limbo.

TempleLive, which has owned the Athenaeum since early 2024, recently shuttered its six venues across the country, leaving performers and promoters uncertain about where their concerts would be held, if at all.

A few of the concerts originally scheduled to take place at the Columbus Athenaeum, 32 N. 4th St., have been moved to new sites after the building’s owner, TempleLive closed its six venues nationwide.

Concert organizer Celebrity Etc., which puts on shows at the Athenaeum and several other Columbus venues, has relocated three performances to The Bluestone, 583 Broad St.: The Waterboys (Sept. 12), James McMurtry (Sept. 13) and Geordie Greep (Sept. 18).

Additionally, a concert by The Weight Band will take place on Sept. 19 at Skully’s Music-Diner, 1151 N. High St.

The Waterboys announced the change of venue in an Instagram post early on Sept. 10, stating that tickets sold for the Athenaeum show will be honored at the Bluestone.

Those who bought seated tickets will still get seats at the new venue, according to the post.

Celebrity Etc. did not immediately respond to a request for comment. As of press time, the concert organizer’s website still listed the Athenaeum as the location for concerts in October and November.
