The hit Hallmark series is in the middle of filming season 13, but the cast made time to see their fans during the Hearties Family Reunion in Vancouver the weekend of September 12. As the three-day event involved dedicated viewers sitting in for panels with When Calls the Heart‘s beloved stars, Ben Rosenbaum (who plays Mike Hickam) decided he’d reveal some exciting information about his career.
While onstage for a panel on September 13, Ben revealed he’s continuing his partnership with Hallmark by appearing in a new movie for the channel. What’s more, his latest project is set to air during Hallmark’s 2025 “Countdown to Christmas” programming event.
“I did want to take a moment, while I have the mic, to tease a little something,” Ben shared in a clip posted on Instagram. “I don’t even have all the details. This is a very early tease, so I’m going to try to keep it in that range. But, I’m going to be appearing in a Hallmark Christmas movie this holiday season!”
But that’s not all Ben shared about his latest project. As he also stated, it turns out other When Calls the Heart cast members are appearing in this upcoming movie from Hallmark too.
“You’re all going to want to keep your eyes on Hallmark, and Hallmark’s social media for the announcement,” he added. “Because it contains alongside myself, not one, not two, not three, not four, but five other When Calls the Heart cast members!”
When WCTH discovered Ben and a number of his fellow co-stars will all appear in a holiday movie for Hallmark, they immediately went wild with excitement.
“Can’t wait to learn more about this! Super exciting!!! ☺️,” one person wrote in the comments. “So excited for this one! So many good things coming for #hearties this holiday season! 🎄,” another exclaimed. “This will be such a fun movie with so many of you in it together,” a different follower added.
Now, what exactly is this movie Ben was so secretive about? Well, Hallmark decided to reveal some information when the official lineup for “Countdown to Christmas” dropped on September 18. Ben is set to star in The Christmas Cup, where he’ll play a fire captain helping a staff sergeant lead a hometown team to victory in the annual Christmas Cup against a rival town. Additionally, the movie will air on November 30, 2025 at 6 p.m. ET on Hallmark, and will see him play the love interest of fellow Hallmark star Rhiannon Fish.
Hearties should also know, Erin Krakow (who plays Elizabeth Thornton), is slated to appear in a new film too, starring alongside Hallmark star Tyler Hynes in the upcoming Christmas Above the Clouds.
