A major mystery surrounding Wednesday Season 2 has finally been addressed. After months of speculation, new updates confirm that Lady Gaga has a role in the show, adding a high-profile presence to Wednesday Season 2 and expanding the Nevermore universe.
Netflix solves the Lady Gaga mystery for Wednesday Season 2
Netflix confirmed Lady Gaga’s guest role in Wednesday Season 2 during her performance at Tudum 2025: The Live Event, where she closed the show with a medley of “Zombieboy,” “Bloody Mary,” and “Abracadabra.” She will make an appearance in Part 2 of the season, which premieres on September 3.
Lady Gaga takes on the role of Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious former Nevermore teacher. Netflix describes her character as “legendary” and “enigmatic.” She crosses paths with Wednesday in a key storyline, though the extent of her involvement and role in the central mystery remains undisclosed.
Season 2 brings the Addams family deeper into the Nevermore setting. Morticia, Gomez, and Pugsley all take on larger roles, with Morticia and Wednesday clashing both emotionally and physically. Director Tim Burton said, “This year, we bring the family to Nevermore. Your family at school is the worst thing possible, isn’t it?”
Wednesday’s younger brother, Pugsley, played by Isaac Ordonez, also joins the school and struggles with his electrokinesis. Joanna Lumley joins the cast as Hester Frump, Wednesday’s Grandmama, a character she seems to respect and even smile at during their reunion.
Season 2 expands the cast further with Steve Buscemi as Nevermore’s new headmaster, Barry Dort. Other newcomers include Billie Piper, Thandiwe Newton, and Christopher Lloyd. Returning cast members include Jenna Ortega as Wednesday, Emma Myers as Enid, and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia.
The production team filmed the season in Ireland and split it into two parts. Part 1, which includes four episodes, is now streaming. Part 2, featuring Lady Gaga’s appearance, will premiere on September 3. Creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar wrote the premiere episode, “Here We Woe Again,” and Tim Burton directed it.
