Country music stars weigh in on greatest country song of all time

Country stars including Cody Johnson, Gretchen Wilson, Carly Pearce and Jordan Davis weigh in on the greatest country song of all time.

Looking for things to do across Northern California and Southern Oregon in late June and early July?

The two-week stretch from June 22 through July 5 is packed with options, from live music in Corning and themed dance nights on the Oregon Coast to wine festivals in Canyonville and a major cultural celebration in Redding. Tribal casinos from Humboldt County’s broader North Coast corridor to Klamath County’s high-desert route are hosting a wide mix of entertainment, dining and community events that make easy weekend getaways.

The biggest draw on the calendar is Redding Rancheria’s 7th Annual Big Time at Win-River Resort & Casino, a free three-day gathering that spotlights Indigenous dance, tradition and community in Shasta County. Elsewhere, Siskiyou County visitors can plan around Rain Rock Casino’s patriotic July 2 seafood buffet, while Seven Feathers Casino Resort brings back its popular Wine Fest of the Umpqua Valley. On the coast, Ko-Kwel Casino Resort in North Bend is preparing for the Oregon Coast’s largest fireworks show, along with a retro 1990s dance party.

If you’re after weekend comedy shows, social dancing or Sunday brunch with blues, this lineup delivers something for nearly every taste.

HOT PICK

June 26-28: Redding Rancheria’s 7th annual Big Time at Win-River Resort & Casino

Cultural celebration/community festival: The standout event of the period is this free three-day gathering hosted by the Redding Rancheria, a living showcase of California Indigenous traditions. Guests can expect traditional dancing in regalia, cultural demonstrations, Native artisan vendors and the region’s closely watched Handgame Tournament, which offers a $5,000 first-place prize. Now in its seventh year, Big Time draws visitors from across Northern California and beyond. Organizers note that this is not a powwow but a celebration of distinctly California traditional dance styles, regalia and song, making it one of the most unique cultural events in Shasta County.

If you go: Vendor hours begin at 6 p.m. Friday, June 26. Main events run from 1 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 27, and 9 a.m. to noon Sunday, June 28, in the lower parking lot at Win-River Resort & Casino, 2100 Redding Rancheria Road in Redding. Admission is free and open to all ages. Handgame Tournament team registration is onsite. For more information, go to winriver.com.

BEST BETS

June 27: Wine Fest of the Umpqua Valley at Seven Feathers Casino Resort

Wine festival/outdoor concert: One of the top summer events in Southern Oregon returns with 18 Umpqua Valley wineries, food trucks and live music by The Traveling Wilburys Revue at noon and 3 p.m. This Canyonville festival blends wine country flavor with casino resort convenience and stands out as a strong value for regional visitors.

If you go: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, near the casino main entrance at Seven Feathers Casino Resort, 146 Chief Miwaleta Lane in Canyonville, Oregon. Tickets cost $20 online through June 26 and $25 at the gate, including 10 wine tasting tickets and a souvenir picnic wine glass. All ages are welcome. For more information, go to sevenfeathers.com.

July 3: Blast by the Bay Fireworks at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort

Fireworks/outdoor festival: The Oregon Coast’s largest fireworks display returns to Ko-Kwel Casino Resort in North Bend, with 20 minutes of pyrotechnics over Coos Bay beginning at 10 p.m. Gates open earlier for live entertainment and food, and the show will be visible from the Coos Bay Boardwalk and much of the waterfront. America250 has recognized the event as part of its national anniversary programming for 2026.

If you go: Gates open at 7 p.m. Friday, July 3, at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort, 3201 Tremont St. in North Bend, Oregon. Fireworks launch at about 10 p.m. The event is open to all ages. For more information, go to kokwelresorts.com.

June 27: Whoomp! There It Is! 90s Prom Night at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort

Live music/themed dance event: This high-energy throwback party turns Ko-Kwel into a 1990s nostalgia zone with live music from Hit Machine, described as the region’s premier tribute-to-the-nineties band. Guests are encouraged to wear their best 1990s prom attire for one of the most affordable dance nights on the Oregon Coast.

If you go: 7 to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at Ko-Kwel Casino Resort, 3201 Tremont St. in North Bend, Oregon. Tickets cost $10 at Ko-Kwel Gifts. Ages 21 and older only. For more information, go to kokwelresorts.com.

June 28: Clint Warner Sunday Blues Brunch at Rolling Hills Casino & Resort

Live blues/brunch: Rolling Hills keeps live music in Corning going with Clint Warner, a local and regional blues favorite, taking the Rock & Brews stage during the casino’s popular Sunday Blues Brunch. The all-you-can-eat brunch and live electric blues combo makes this one of Tehama County’s standout recurring entertainment values.

If you go: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at Rock & Brews, Rolling Hills Casino & Resort, 2655 Everett Freeman Way in Corning. Price includes all-you-can-eat food and nonalcoholic beverages, though the exact cost was not listed. Reservations are required. Call 530-528-4630 or go to rollinghillscasino.com for more information.

July 2: July Seafood Buffet at Rain Rock Casino Resort & Hotel

Specialty dining event: This monthly favorite lands just ahead of Independence Day, giving Yreka-area visitors a festive kickoff to the holiday weekend. Served in the resort’s Events Center, the buffet has been highlighted by Discover Siskiyou as one of the county’s notable food experiences.

If you go: 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 2, at the Rain Rock Casino Resort & Hotel Events Center, 777 Casino Way in Yreka. Previous editions were priced at about $42 to $49.99 per person, and guests should confirm current pricing with the venue. For reservations and more information, go to rainrockcasino.com.

July 4: Overtime Live DVJ at Win-River Resort & Casino

Dance/DJ event: Win-River closes out the holiday with a late-night dance party in Overtime, featuring Redding DJ and VJ performers in a no-cover setting. It is a strong pick for those looking for July 4 nightlife in Redding with music, visuals and a high-energy crowd.

If you go: 9:30 p.m. Saturday, July 4, to 1:30 a.m. Sunday, July 5, at Overtime inside Win-River Resort & Casino, 2100 Redding Rancheria Road in Redding. Admission is free. Guests must be 21 and older. For more information, go to winriver.com.

June 26 and July 3: Line Dancing in Elements Lounge at Seven Feathers Casino Resort

Free dance/social event: For an easy Thursday night outing in Canyonville, Seven Feathers offers free line dancing lessons in Elements Lounge, with beginners welcome and no experience needed. The recurring series is one of the most accessible social events on the Southern Oregon casino calendar.

If you go: 7 p.m. Thursday, June 26, and Thursday, July 3, at Elements Lounge, Seven Feathers Casino Resort, 146 Chief Miwaleta Lane in Canyonville, Oregon. Admission is free. Guests must be 21 and older. For more information, go to sevenfeathers.com.
