As Harry Kane leads England through the 2026 FIFA World Cup, one of his biggest supporters has been cheering him on from the stands: his wife, Katie Goodland.
The pair has known each other since childhood, long before Kane became England’s all-time leading men’s goal scorer. Today, they share four children and continue building their life together as Kane’s career evolves. In addition to supporting Kane throughout his career, Goodland has built a career in fitness and has gradually begun sharing more of her family’s life on social media.

She and Kane have known each other since they were kids.
Goodland and Kane’s relationship goes back to their school days in Chingford, East London. They knew each other as children before dating as teenagers, and in 2014, Goodland shared a throwback photo from one of their school proms, joking, “Joining the throw back people 🙈 haha major throw back #school #prom.”
Kane has often said he’s grateful their relationship began before his soccer career took off.
“If I was single now and meeting people, you’d never know if they were with you for the right reasons,” he told the Evening Standard in 2017. “Is it the money? You’d never really know. So I’m lucky that I’ve got a childhood sweetheart.”
He also reflected on their relationship in Life Beyond Sport in 2018.
“My best friend is probably my fiancée, Katie,” he said. “We’ve known each other for a long time.”
They got engaged in the Bahamas and married in 2019.
Kane proposed to Goodland during a beach vacation in the Bahamas in July 2017, sharing a photo of the proposal on Twitter with the caption, “She said YES!”

Two years later, the couple married in a private seaside ceremony.
Announcing the wedding on Instagram, Kane wrote, “Finally got to marry my Best Friend!”
A month later, Goodland reflected on the milestone in her own post.
“A month ago today I married my soulmate, one of the best days of my life!” she wrote. “Thank you for making my dreams come true, you are perfect.”
The couple has continued celebrating milestones publicly in the years since. On their fifth wedding anniversary in June 2024, Kane wrote, “5 years married to my beautiful wife @katekanex. Love you beautiful 🥰❤️.”
She studied sports science and works in fitness.
Goodland graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in sports science in 2014 before building a career as a fitness instructor.
She has also grown a following on Instagram, where she occasionally shares workouts, travel, and family moments.
Kane has praised her ambition over the years.
“She always wanted to do her own thing,” he told the Evening Standard. “She went to university and worked hard.”
They share four children.
Goodland and Kane are parents to four children: daughters Ivy and Vivienne, and sons Louis and Henry.

Kane later praised the experience during a 2021 interview with the Evening Standard.
“She went down the hypnobirthing route, and she found it really helpful,” he said. “She was a lot less scared than the first time, and she had lots of tips to deal with it, breathing tips to stay calm, and she did it with no drugs.”
She’s supported Kane throughout his career.
Goodland has been by Kane’s side from his Tottenham Hotspur days to his move to Bayern Munich and England’s international tournaments.
During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, while pregnant with their second child, she stayed home in England but regularly shared messages of encouragement.
Ahead of England’s semifinal against Croatia, she posted a childhood photo of Kane and wrote, “This feels like yesterday…What a long way you’ve come! Bring it home skip.”
After England’s tournament ended, she added, “Boys done us proud. We love you.”
She has continued supporting Kane throughout the 2026 FIFA World Cup. On July 1, before England’s Round of 32 match against the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Atlanta, she shared photos from the stadium alongside the caption, “Atlanta, let’s go,” followed by three lion emojis.
Ahead of England’s Round of 16 match against Mexico on July 5, she returned to Instagram with another game-day carousel, writing, “Match day magic ✨✨.”
The following day, after England advanced to the quarterfinals behind Kane’s two-goal performance, Goodland posted another series of photos, including one wearing a custom England corset, captioning the post, “Game ready, let’s go England 🏴.”
Family remains at the center of Kane’s life.
Kane has often credited Goodland and their family with helping him stay grounded throughout his career.
“I have a great family, they keep me grounded, and they’ve worked just as hard as me to get me where I am,” he told the Evening Standard.
He has also said that, despite his profile, he prefers spending time at home with his wife and children.
“I want to be with Kate and the family,” he said. “I am not a drinker; I am not someone who wants to be seen out and about. I want to be a top footballer, and that means focus, and it means doing everything you need to do to be the best you can be.”
