Born on 9th August 1975, as Mahesh Ghattamaneni, Mahesh Babu is a popular Indian actor who began his acting journey in the Telugu film industry. He is the son of the legendary Telugu actor Krishna Ghattamaneni and Indira.

Mahesh started his career as a child artist in the Telugu movie Needa. Following his impeccable screen performance, Babu began landing acting roles in several Telugu films, including Sankharavam, Mugguru Kodukulu, Bazaar Rowdy, Gudachari 117, and Koduku Diddina Kapuram. However, in 1990, the actor took a break from acting to focus on his studies.
Almost a decade later, he returned to the entertainment industry with the film Rajakumarudu, earning him the title “The Little Prince” after the film’s massive success. Since then, Babu has delivered many commercially successful films, earning various accolades including Nandi Awards, Filmfare Awards, Santosh Film Awards, and more.

In Rajamouli’s Varanasi, Mahesh plays a dual role as Rudhra and Lord Ram of the ancient Hindu epic Ramayana. While details about the films are still under wraps, Varanasi is slated to hit theaters sometime in 2027. The film also stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Prithviraj Sukumaran in lead roles.
