Tommy Brennan, a comedian and podcaster from St. Paul, will join the cast of “Saturday Night Live” for its 51st season.
Brennan is one of five featured players added to the long-running sketch show’s cast, alongside Jeremy Culhane, Ben Marshall, Kam Patterson and Veronika Slowikowska, NBC announced Sept. 2.
“This doesn’t feel real, but we’ll see you guys on Saturdays,” Brennan wrote in a Sept. 2 Instagram post.
Brennan performed stand-up on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” in June. He is also the co-host of the Roommates-In-Law podcast. He is a regular at the world-famous Comedy Cellar in New York City and has opened for comedians Nikki Glaser, Taylor Tomlinson and the late Louie Anderson, who died in 2022. His LinkedIn profile lists Cretin-Derham Hall High School in St. Paul.
Three now-former members of the “SNL” cast – Devon Walker, Michael Longfellow and Emil Wakim – all announced their exits from the show in recent days, USA TODAY reported.

When will there be new episodes of ‘Saturday Night Live’?
The 51st season of “SNL” will premiere Oct. 4. The host and musical guest haven’t been announced.
