Selena Gomez will turn 34 on July 22, and her husband, Benny Blanco, is literally crossing an ocean to be with her. The music producer posted a TikTok of himself on a boat to London, where Gomez has been filming Only Murders in the Building season 6. “POV ur traveling across the atlantic in the titanic to see ur wife because ur scared of flying,” he wrote.
Gomez and Blanco spent time together in New York City earlier this month when she attended Taylor Swift’s rehearsal dinner and wedding on July 2 and 3.
Blanco has been open about his fear of planes—and how he has taken the boat to Europe in the past to avoid flying.
During the couple’s On Purpose with Jay Shetty interview last March, he explained, “I take the boat to Europe. Oh my God, it’s so long. It’s like first you have to drive to New York and then you get on a boat for eight days, and you’re on the Titanic.”
Shetty asked Gomez about what it’s like flying with Blanco. “He does not fly,” she said.
“I’ve done it, but not since we’ve been dating,” he chimed in.
The actress said she’d be hesitant to be on a plane with him “because I would be so worried about him. I think it’s a big fear of his.”
When Blanco spoke with ELLE for his ELLE Man interview last year, he was driving cross-country to see Gomez, who usually shoots Only Murders in the Building in New York City.
Of flying, he said, “Oh my God, I hate it. Terrifying. I’m in Dallas right now. I’m driving to New York from Los Angeles.”
