From Sonny and Michael to Portia, Curtis, Martin, and even Kristina, almost everyone has a reason to see him gone. During the week of August 25–29, the soap preview left fans in suspense when Danny and Rocco stumbled upon a body at the pier, while Nina, Alexis, and a furious Portia were seen on the screen. Naturally, theories exploded about whether the corpse floating in the river belongs to Drew.
The August 27 episode has only fueled the fire. Sonny bluntly told Alexis that Drew has made too many enemies and that it’s only a matter of time before someone takes him down. Nina went as far as threatening Drew’s life, vowing she would see him dead if he dared to hurt Willow. Even Curtis and Portia worry that Drew is coming after them next. With so many confrontations, fans believe General Hospital is building toward a violent death for Drew.
But actor Cameron Mathison has already addressed the swirling exit rumors. Despite the dramatic setup, Mathison isn’t leaving General Hospital. Recently, the actor took to Instagram to share a sweet post about spending time with his daughter before she headed back to school. When a fan asked directly if the rumors of his leaving were true, Mathison responded with a simple but definitive “no.”
That means while Drew’s enemies may want him gone, Mathison isn’t leaving General Hospital anytime soon. Fans will just have to keep watching to see if Drew survives his growing list of enemies or if someone finally makes good on their threats.
