Ice-T was one of the few people who wasn’t invested in Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift‘s highly anticipated wedding.
While speaking exclusively to Us Weekly at the Nation’s Dumbest press junket, Ice-T, 68, explained why he didn’t ask his Law & Order: SVU costar Mariska Hargitay about her experience at the star-studded nuptials.
“Things that Ice-T doesn’t give a f*** about,” Ice-T quipped to Us. “They got married at Madison Square Garden?”
The rapper, who has been married to Coco Austin since 2002, shared his hot take on the perfect location for a wedding, adding, “If you need Madison Square Garden to get married … You want to get married at the courthouse. That means you really want to be married.”
Swift and Kelce, both 36, officially tied the knot on July 3 after three years together. While the couple’s romance has inspired overwhelming public interest, Ice-T admitted he isn’t as familiar with Swift and Kelce.
“Who the f** is Travis Kelce? Oh, he’s on the Kansas City Chiefs,” Ice-T continued. “So all you Swifties, don’t hate me. I’m a Black guy. If I sat up here and you said name some Taylor Swift records and Ice-T could name this s***, I’d never be able to go back to the hood.”
In addition to filming season 28 of Law & Order: SVU with Hargitay, 62, Ice-T remains booked and busy with other opportunities such as Fox’s Nation’s Dumbest.
“The show was designed incredibly well. Nobody had an advantage because the questions range through all different genres and age brackets,” he told Us before joking. “They kind of baited me on the show by saying it was gonna be easy. Like all 12 people, you’d be off on the second day. It’s just so smart. And I was like, ‘OK, cool.’ So I came in there thinking it was going to be easy the first day. The game is so random. No one really truly has an advantage.”
He continued: “One thing I’d say is that no one’s going to be able to watch this show and say, ‘I could have maxed it out.’ So you know what’s going to look dumb on the show because no one at home is going to be able to beat this game.”
Ice-T enjoyed his time on Law & Order: SVU — but he isn’t in a rush to do more reality TV shows.
“I don’t want to get stuck on a deserted island. None of that. None of them,” he continued. “I’m not doing any of that. They offered me a bunch of money to do this show called I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here. They sent me the trailer. I’m like, ‘They’re eating dog s***.’
For Ice-T, it is about picking projects he is excited about, adding, “You can go on a show and you can have fun. But you don’t want to humiliate yourself to the point where you can’t recover. So this show was right in the place where we were all just having good fun.”
Nation’s Dumbest airs on Fox Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
