Actor Priyanka Chopra addressed questions about performing her own stunts in her latest Hollywood film, The Bluff. The premiere saw the 43-year-old joined by her husband, Nick Jonas, and co-stars, including Vin Diesel and Karl Urban.
Speaking at the Los Angeles premiere of the film, Priyanka clarified why she opted not to take on some of the film’s riskier action sequences.

In a conversation with Variety, the actor said, “There were a couple of shots for which I had to lean on my stunt double. She had to do those three or four dangerous shots, like face going into glass and stuff like that.”
Priyanka emphasised that the choice was not solely hers and noted that the production team also had concerns. She said, “I didn’t say that; they wouldn’t let me. I’m not a hero. I go to work to do my job. I don’t want anyone to get hurt, including myself.”
She further explained her role in the film required her presence on camera for dramatic impact, which influenced the decision to avoid certain stunts. “This is a dramatic movie; it requires my face in the camera when stuff is happening. That’s how you feel the pain and the horror of what is going through. So I did whatever was safe,” the actor added.

The Bluff: Story, cast and release date
The Bluff is set in the late 1800s against the backdrop of the Cayman Islands and follows Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden, played by Priyanka. The character is a former pirate seeking a peaceful life after a violent past. The story sees her past catching up to her and forcing her to confront old dangers.
The film was co-written by Joe Ballarini and Flowers. It also marks the actor’s second collaboration with filmmakers Joe Russo and Anthony Russo. Their previous project, the espionage thriller Citadel, released on Amazon Prime Video in 2023. Priyanka has already completed shooting for the second season of Citadel, which is set to premiere on the streaming platform this year.
Alongside Priyanka, The Bluff stars Karl Urban, Ismael Cruz Cordova, and Safia Oakley-Green. The film will be available for streaming on Prime Video from February 25.
