Dane’s representatives put out a statement on Thursday (via THR) that assured the fans that he passed away in the company of his friends and loved ones.
Before his passing, Dane had been suffering from a degenerative disease called amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Als for short. This disease affects the body’s nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord, which leads to loss of muscle control, and has no cure (via Ninds). And sadly, Dane had contracted this disease last year.
