Taylor Swift’s been out on the town recently, first surprising fans at the Toy Story 5 world premiere in Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 9. The singer posed solo (and with cowgirl Jessie) on the red carpet and later performed her song from the movie, “I Knew It, I Knew You.”
Just one day later, on June 10, Swift was courtside at her rumored wedding venue, Madison Square Garden, cheering on the New York Knicks during their historic comeback in Game 4 of the NBA Finals. This time, the “Love Story” singer was accompanied by a few friends: Este and Alana Haim.
While it’s nice to see Swift out and about and having fun, Swifties have been wondering where her Super-Bowl-winning fiancé is and why he hasn’t been by her side at recent events.

Well, it turns out Travis Kelce has a pretty good excuse—work. Kelce’s back in Kansas City for the Chiefs’ mandatory minicamp, which, per ESPN, kicked off on June 9 and concluded on Thursday, June 11.
Even though Kelce had no choice but to miss out on some exciting nights out with Swift, his most recent absence comes after reports suggesting that he’s still struggling to adjust to the increased security constantly surrounding the pop star.
“Taylor’s life operates like a military operation,” one insider told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice.“There are armored SUVs, armed guards, advance teams, private entrances, constant surveillance. Travis respects why it’s necessary, but it’s still shocking to him sometimes.”
Kelce’s known for his very laid-back personality and love of spontaneity, so it makes sense that Swift’s security detail would feel overwhelming to him.
“Travis is happiest when life feels normal,” a separate source told Shuter. “He loves random nights out, changing plans last minute, calling friends on the fly. With Taylor, every movement has to be coordinated in advance.”
But sources claim that Kelce “accepts the restrictions” because he knows his future wife’s safety is the top priority. “He hates the limitations,” one person noted. “But he loves Taylor more than he hates any of it.”
And with his and Swift’s wedding just around the corner, friends say Kelce has become “even more protective” of the Grammy winner and “wants to be the one protecting her.”
“That’s part of how Travis sees himself,” they continued. “But it’s a strange feeling when highly trained security teams are always ten steps ahead of you.”
