And it looks like her winner, Doug Mason, wants to be the next Bachelor.
According to a screen grab from fan account @bachelornation.scoop (via Us Weekly), Doug responded to someone who wrote “Doug Mason for Bachelor” with “Let’s goooo.”
So…when could The Bachelor air? TBD, but TMZ reports that ABC had planned to cast one of Taylor’s finalists as their next lead and “pretty much knew the people who were in the running,” but “it was all predicated on that contender becoming famous.” Since those options are “no longer viable” due to The Bachelorette’s cancellation, they’re going back to the drawing board. Which means ABC will reportedly either delay the next season of The Bachelor or will “pick someone who has already been on the show.”

Meanwhile, Doug released a statement regarding the show’s cancellation, where he said “Yo, good morning everybody. In light of everything that’s happened, I’m just sending out prayers to Taylor because that was her moment and her moment was blocked. So all we can do right now is be hopeful. And I’m headed off to run to watch the sunrise. Hope you guys have a great day, let’s stay positive and show nothing but support for people in need. Cheers.”
