The Prince and Princess of Wales have shared a new family photograph which features on their Christmas card this year.
The image, released on Kensington Palace’s social media, shows William and Kate sitting on the grass amid spring daffodils with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.
Taken by photographer Josh Shinner in Norfolk, the picture shows Charlotte resting her head on her father’s shoulder and holding onto his arm.
Louis is leaning back sitting between William’s legs and showing a gap for his two front teeth, and Kate has her arm around George.
The post reads: “Wishing everyone a very Happy Christmas.”
King Charles and Queen Camilla revealed their Christmas card earlier this month, opting for a picture of them taken in Rome.
They are pictured standing arm in arm in the grounds of Villa Wolkonsky, the British ambassador’s residence in Rome, earlier this year.
The greeting inside their card reads “Wishing you a very happy Christmas and New Year”.
Senior royals regularly release festive cards featuring a chosen image of themselves, which they will then personally sign before sending out to friends and public figures across the world.
It comes after the Princess of Wales held her annual Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey at the start of December.
The Together at Christmas service was attended by 1,600 celebrities and community heroes from across the UK.
Actress Kate Winslet and singer Katie Melua were among those invited, alongside comedian and actor Eugene Levy and actor Chiwetel Ejiofor.
The princess told Dan Smith, lead singer with Bastille, that her children had been looking forward to the service: “They’re really excited, it’s become such a tradition.”
Kensington Palace said the service celebrated “love in all its forms—whether it’s love within families, through friendships, across communities, or even through powerful moments of connection with strangers.
“In a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected, love is the force that reconnects us —spanning generations, communities, cultures, and faiths. As we approach the Christmas season, we are reminded of the power of togetherness.”
The Waleses are spending the festive season together and are expected to be joining the King and rest of the royal family at Sandringham in Norfolk on Christmas Day.
The family-of-five experienced a major change just a few weeks ago when they moved into their eight-bedroom “forever home”, Forest Lodge in Windsor Great Park.
The change is seen as a fresh start for the Waleses after Kate’s recovery from cancer, which she announced at the start of 2025, following what William branded a “brutal” 2024.
