A Wilmington woman is set to be featured on the upcoming season of a popular Netflix reality-competition series.
According to a news release from digital marketing agency Smarty Pants Productions, Melissa Miller, who’s described as a Wilmington hair stylist and mother of two, is a contestant on season two of “Squid Game: The Challenge,” which premieres on Netflix Nov. 4.
“Squid Game: The Challenge” is based on hit Netflix show “Squid Game” out of South Korea, which depicts a dystopian world in which people are whisked away to play children’s games in a secret location in the hopes of winning a large amount of money. The only catch is, if they lose a game, they are shot to death by masked guards.
Of course, nothing quite so deadly happens on “Squid Game: The Challenge” in which contestants compete for a for a “life-changing” cash prize by enduring a series of grueling challenges.
“This experience challenged me in every possible way. It was thrilling, scary andfun all at the same time,” Miller said in the release. “I wanted to show my kids — and everyone watching — that it’s never too late to take a risk, push your limits, and redefinewhat strength looks like.”
