MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (WBOY) — If you’re a Netflix subscriber and looking for something to watch, a new show featuring a former Mountaineer may pique your interest!

West Virginia University graduate Brittany Christoff competed in the new season of Netflix’s show “Squid Game: The Challenge,” donning the number 347 as she competed in challenges to try and win a grand prize of $4.56 million.

As a former student at WVU, she graduated with a degree in marketing and said that she looks back at her time at WVU very positively.

“I absolutely love WVU,” Christoff said. “I often reminisce on my college days.”

Christoff said that she had the opportunity to be on the show after watching the first season, which inspired her to sign up and get accepted to be on the next one. She said that her first day on set reminded her of her first days at WVU.

“Going to WVU, I went from like a couple hundred kids to thousands of kids. So it’s just like, you’re thrown into a new environment, so it’s kind of weird,” Christoff said. “I knew going into the game that it was going to be more of a mental game. And a lot of different personalities are in a warehouse together and people react to things differently. People were stressed out, people were excited, people wanted their ten seconds of fame.”

The first episode of the show is out now, with more episodes coming out weekly. Christoff shared that she is excited to see how it goes and watch herself compete.

“I’m really excited to have people I know, actually see what I did,” Christoff said.

With only one episode out, it is unclear who the winner will be, but Christoff ended her interview with 12 News by saying that she loves game shows and hopes to compete in more of them.
