NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – WVUE-TV and the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network (GCSEN) are expanding their weekend programming lineup with the addition of two new outdoor television shows, Catch & Cook and Out Da Bayou.
Both programs will begin airing on Saturdays and Sundays, bringing fresh content that highlights the region’s deep-rooted connection to outdoor adventure, cuisine, and culture.

“When it comes to outdoor adventure, there is no place like South Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, and Catch & Cook and Out Da Bayou capture that enviable spirit,” said Mikel Schaefer, general manager of WVUE-TV and GCSEN. “The shows are beautifully shot and edited, and must-see TV for outdoor enthusiasts and anyone who loves the beauty of our great region.”
Catch & Cook, hosted by celebrity chef Jay Ducote, blends the thrill of the catch with the flavors of Cajun cuisine. The series follows Ducote as he takes viewers from the excitement of reeling in fresh Gulf fish to preparing savory camp-style dishes rooted in Louisiana’s culinary heritage. Each episode is a celebration of the region’s lifestyle, showcasing how fishing and food go hand in hand.
“From the beginning, our goal was to showcase the authentic spirit of Louisiana—our food, our culture, and our fishing captains,” said Richard Fischer, CEO of the Louisiana Charter Boat Association. “This partnership allows us to share that story with an even wider audience.”

Joining the weekend lineup alongside Catch & Cook is Out Da Bayou, a visually rich series hosted and produced by renowned outdoor photographer John Jackson. The 30-minute show highlights the people who live, work, and thrive in Louisiana’s great outdoors, from seasoned hunters and fishermen to everyday adventurers. Jackson brings a storyteller’s eye to each episode, weaving together scenic footage with real-life stories that reflect the heart of Bayou culture.
“We’re thrilled to have Out Da Bayou join the Gulf Coast Sports and Entertainment Network family,” Jackson said. “This 30-minute show is all about sharing the incredible stories of the people who live, work, and thrive in the outdoors—from adventure seekers to outdoor professionals.”
GCSEN’s expansion continues to strengthen its role as a major regional media platform. The network is the official broadcast partner of the New Orleans Pelicans, delivering all non-network games to nearly 10 million viewers across 14 markets throughout the Gulf South. In addition to its new outdoor programming, GCSEN airs original content such as the Saints Kick-Off Show, the Black & Gold Postgame Show, and select NHL Dallas Stars hockey games.
