The Yakima Symphony Orchestra will take Beethoven beyond the concert hall this summer with a new chamber music series featuring performances at libraries, wineries and community spaces across the Yakima Valley.
The inaugural Summer Chamber Music Series will include nine string quartet performances from May through August, led by concertmaster Denise Dillenbeck and the Yakima Symphony String Quartet, according to a news release from YSO. Select performances will also feature music historian Jeffrey Snedeker and the Yakima Symphony Chorus.
Programs will highlight Beethoven string quartets alongside themed performances such as “Hollywood in Harmony” and “Late Style & the Threshold of Silence,” with events planned at Treveri Cellars, Whitman Hills Winery, Gilbert Cellars and Narratif Winery.
“We are thrilled to present the 2026-2027 Season, Beloved Beethoven,” Executive Director Sam McClung said in the release. “This season reflects our commitment to expanding access to classical music through innovative programming throughout the region.”
A companion lecture series will be held at the Yakima Valley Museum on select dates. Single tickets are on sale now at ysomusic.org.
