The Leeds band’s third record is set for release on July 17
Yard Act have announced their new album You’re Gonna Need A Little Music with the single ‘Redeemer’.
The Leeds-based band are set to return with their third studio album on July 17. It will be their first new record since Where’s My Utopia in 2024.
Yard Act worked with Nine Inch Nails bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen on the album, and recorded it between LA and Leeds. The band say it’s the first time they’ve all recorded a record in the same room.
“The first two records were both laptop records essentially, ” said frontman James Smith.
The group were allowed to settle into an “uninterrupted five month period” in which they produced “40 or 50 songs”.
“It felt like freedom. It felt like everything I’d wanted from being in a band”, Smith added.
Yard Act will tour the album later this year, kicking off with European dates in June before heading to North America throughout August, and back to Europe in October. However, their tour does not include any Irish dates.
