Big Boy No. 4014 travels through northeastern Pennsylvania
Big Boy No. 4014 is on a coast-to-coast tour to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary. It will be coming through southcentral Pennsylvania in July.

According to the National Weather Service in State College, on Friday for Juneteenth there is a slight chance of showers between 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Otherwise, it will be mostly sunny and clear with a high around 81 and a low around 60. On Saturday, it will be clear with a high around 81 and a low near 59. On Sunday for Father’s Day, it will be clear with a high near 83 and a low around 62.

City of York Parks and Recreation Juneteenth Family Day Celebration – 1 to 5 p.m. Friday, June 19 – Voni Grimes Gym and Campus Park, 125 E College Ave., York City – The City of York Parks and Recreation Department will host a Juneteenth Family Day Celebration. At 5 p.m., there will be a Juneteenth Celebration march down Duke Street to WellSpan Park to continue the festivities with the York Revolution as they host their Juneteenth themed baseball game. Miss Pennsylvania and Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen Scholarship Competition – 7 p.m. Thursday, June 18; 5 p.m. Friday, June 19; and, Saturday, June 20 – The Appell Center for the Performing Arts, 50 N. George St., York City – Delegates from all over Pennsylvania will be in York City for the 2026 Miss Pennsylvania and Miss Pennsylvania’s Teen Scholarship Competitions. Makers Spirit Event – Friday, June 19 and Saturday, June 20 – Explore York invites residents and visitors to discover the creativity, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurial spirit that make York County special during the 2026 Makers Spirit Event, taking place June 19-20.
Featuring 18 makers from across the county, this two-day celebration offers a chance to go beyond the finished product and meet the people who bring York County’s favorite foods, beverages, crafts, and specialty goods to life. 24th Annual Penn-Mar Irish Festival – Gates open at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 20 – Pheasant Run Greenhouse & Garden Center, 10341 Brillhart Rd., Glen Rock – A regional favorite featuring Irish bands, dancers, food vendors and cultural demonstrations. A schedule of events can be found HERE.

Civil War Walking Tour – 6 to 7:30 p.m. – York County History Center Museum, 121 N. Pershing Ave., York – Guides lead visitors through downtown to explore York’s experience during the 1863 Confederate invasion.
Dancin’ the Night Away – 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, June 19 – York Township Park, 25 Oak St., York – A casual outdoor concert series offering live music and dancing in a park setting.
