The collaboration, which marks the first original release from Aerosmith in over a decade, follows Yungblud and Steven Tyler’s team-up at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards

Aerosmith and Yungblud are bridging their generational gap with the ultimate unifier — love. The two rock acts will team up on the upcoming single “My Only Angel.” In a preview of the recording session for the song, which doesn’t have a set release date, Yungblud and Steven Tyler wail into the microphone, singing, “Would you cry if I called you my angel?/Gotta leave, gotta leave, gotta leave you/One more time.”

“My Only Angel” will mark the first non-reissue or vault release from Aerosmith in over a decade. Earlier this year, Tyler returned to the stage after retiring from touring due to significant damage to his vocal cords. In the preview clip, the singer pushes his voice to the brink as he gives his all to run parallel with Yungblud.

Earlier this month, Yungblud and Tyler took the stage at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards in a collaborative tribute performance for Ozzy Osbourne. They previously appeared at the “Back to the Beginning” farewell concert that the late musician hosted just weeks before his death on July 22.

The upcoming release will follow Yungblud’s latest studio album, Idols, released in June. “This album was almost like my last chance,” he told Rolling Stone at the time. “If I hadn’t been sure of what I was making, I don’t think there would’ve been a way back for me. I made a fucking incredible album when I was 19 — 21st Century Liability. I got so much bigger than I ever expected to get. And then the mainstream finds you and you become insecure about things you didn’t know existed.”

Teaming up with Aerosmith also gives the younger rocker a chance to bridge the gap between when rock used to be and what it has morphed into over the years. “If it sounded like the past, I failed. Fuck that. There are so many pastiche rock bands out there. That’s why rock’s been dead for so long,” he said. “I didn’t want to adhere to a time period… If it felt too specific to this moment, then I failed. And it would cringe me out.”
