Zac Brown made headlines last month when he announced that he and Kendra Scott are now engaged.
He is making headlines now, though, because his ex-wife, Kelly Yazdi, is not going away quietly.
The two were married for just four months before going through a nasty split in 2023, and Yazdi has often hurled accusations at the popular singer. She returned to social media on Friday with what she said was a major update as they continue to battle things out in court.
“I’m here to share with you guys the most important update in regard to the lawsuit that my ex-husband, Zac Brown, from Zac Brown Band forced on me,” Yazdi said in the video shared to Instagram on Aug. 8. “So yesterday was a huge day. The federal judge issued an order declaring that Zac’s contracts, the ones that he has been trying to use to silence me are, in fact, unenforceable as written.
“The judge made it very clear that celebrities do now get special treatment and that they are not above the law,” she continued. “This means Zac Brown is now 0-for-3. The TRO against me? Denied. The preliminary injunction? Withdrawn. His contracts? Unenforceable as written.”
Yazdi was not through.
“Zac’s choice to drag me through lawsuits and use his PR machine to spin false narratives about me has only resulted in a loss after loss for him, but I know you guys know the saying, karma is a ….” she said.
“I’m looking for our trial on Sept. 15 at the U.S District Courthouse in Atlanta, Georgia which is, in fact, open to the public. And to everyone who has stood by me and supported me, thank you so much. This is not only a huge win for me. This is a huge win for the truth.”
Brown has yet to respond to her latest video.
Brown shared last month during an appearance on “Today” that he and Brown were engaged.
“I’m blessed,” he said. “I feel great.
“It’s incredible, we’re so happy we found each other,” he added. “We’re blessed and it just adds so much energy to everything else, more to give to music, more to give to our families, so we’re blessed.”
The Zac Brown Band also recently announced it will play a shows at the Sphere in Las Vegas. Dates are Dec. 5, 6, 12 and 13, and that is slated to coincide with the release of the band’s seventh studio album, “Love & Fear.”
“Bringing our new album Love & Fear to Sphere in Las Vegas is a dream come true,” Zac Brown said. “It’s my masterpiece so far. This show is the story of my life that I have never shared, a journey through my imagination, music and stories that have defined who I am.
“All of this brought to life in the incredible immersive environment of the Sphere,” he continued. “It will be a unique experience where you can really feel every note, every word, right there with us. We can’t wait to share it with the fans.”
While Kenny Chesney recently became the first country music star to play the Sphere, Zac Brown Band will become the first country group to play the venue.
