Zac Efron will attend Dancing With the Stars on Tuesday to support his younger brother Dylan during the show’s special Dedication Night episode.
The High School Musical star has stayed out of the spotlight during Dylan’s run, despite fan speculation and repeated requests from producers.
But insiders tell The Sun US the October 14 show, which centers around personal dedications, finally made the timing feel right.
“Zac will finally be in the ballroom at DWTS this Tuesday,” the source said.
“Producers have wanted this for a while. Dylan didn’t want to take attention away from his journey, but this week felt appropriate.”
Viewers noticed a potential spoiler during the October 7 Disney Night episode when host Julianne Hough teased Dylan’s song selection.
“Everyone thought you were going to do High School Musical tonight,” Hough said.
Dylan replied, “I couldn’t – yeah, I have something special for next week, if I’m still here.”
His partner Danielle appeared surprised by the comment.
Dylan has spoken publicly about growing up in Zac’s shadow, describing the experience on the Therapuss podcast.
“I’ve been hyper-aware of how I present myself from a young age,” he said. “When everyone else started looking up to him, I was like, of course. That’s my big brother.”
