Happy St. Patrick’s Day weekend! In addition to all the big holiday events throughout the region, some other Irish-themed activities in North Jersey include a St. Pat’s Day murder mystery in Millburn, Irish music and brews in Denville, and a craft session at American Dream. But if the holiday-theme isn’t your thing, there is so much more.

Debbie Tintle art exhibit in Chester

The Atrium Art Gallery winter exhibit, open weekdays (except holidays) through April 25, will feature realistic landscape watercolor artist Debbie Tintle of Chester.

According to Tintle, “The old mills, the wildlife, the vanishing farms and countryside around Chester, New Jersey are sources of inspiration for me, as well as the people and places I come across in my travels to the Adirondacks, New England and Europe. I am a realistic landscape painter, concerned with the light and color of a scene – the sounds, or the stillness, the weather, are all part of my overall impression of a place. My goal is to capture and share the elusive mood of a place and time in the same way that I experienced it.”

Go: Debbie Tintle art exhibit at the Atrium Art Gallery, 50 North Road, Chester. The gallery is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. chesterrecreationnj.org

Walking tour of Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park

Free ranger-guided walking tours of the park have returned for the spring. Wednesdays through Sundays until June 14, these afternoon tours will start near the statue of Alexander Hamilton. The story of Paterson and its Great Falls demonstrates how the natural and cultural diversity of the area helped fuel the economic and social growth of a young nation. Discover how the natural world inspired a founding father, entrepreneurs, immigrants, poets and artists to build the nation’s first industrial city. From the formation of the falls to the modern era, connect with the places, products and people. Wear comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing/shoes. The walk will be on along paved and unpaved paths with uneven footing. Guided tours led by the National Park Service or its designees can follow paved, wheelchair-accessible routes (assistance may be required, especially along narrow city sidewalks).

Go: Ranger guided walking tours of Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park, 72 McBride Ave. Extension. 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. Free. nps.gov.

Wolf’s career spans six decades and currently tours with his band, the Midnight Travelers. His hits include “Freeze Frame,” “Love Stinks,” and “Centerfold.” The book provides a glimpse of artists, writers, actors and musicians as they work — the creative forces that drive them to achievement, the demons they battle and the patterns of their human relationships.

Go: Peter Wolf at Book-Ends, 211 E. Ridgewood Ave., Ridgewood. 6 p.m. Thursday. Each attendee must purchase a book at $34.99. book-ends.org

The competition is fierce, and it has been rumored that contestants have been driven to deception, manipulation and violence – even the edge of murder – in order to win the second-place trophy, two pitchers of green beer and $20 gift certificate to O’Shannessy’s Pub. When Sean, a local handyman, goes mysteriously missing, it’ll be up to you to find out what happened to him.

Go: “A St Patrick’s Day Passing” at the F.M. Kirby Carriage House, 22 Brookside Drive, Millburn. 6 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. $40 ticket charge; $63 three-course prix-fixe meal (to be paid at the event). Beverages, tax and gratuity are not included. my.papermill.org
