Olivia Rodrigo has finally dropped the brand-new song, The Cure.
Taking to her Instagram handle on Friday, the 23-year-old singer announced that she has released the second song from her upcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.
“THE CURE SONG AND VIDEO IS OUT NOW!!!!! this song means so much to me and I’m so so so happy that it’s out in the world!” she penned while sharing a series of pictures from her music video.
The Deja Vu hitmaker also praised the creative team behind her track, writing, “Shout out to @dan_nigro for making it with me and being the best producer/songwriter in the game.
“Thank u @bead.lizard and @catsolen for creating this brilliant, imaginative music video that I adore,” she added.
Concluding the caption, Olivia declared that The Cure is the thesis statement of her upcoming album.
“It made the whole album click for me,” the singer wrote. “I hope you enjoy it.
Speaking on iHeartRadio, Olivia said that The Cure is her favorite song from the album.
“It’s kind of like the climax of the record. It’s just sort of about how, when you’re younger, you think falling in love with someone will fix all of your problems. And then I think when you face love in reality, you realize that that’s not the truth,” she said.
“So this is just me coming to terms with things that I wanted to be fixed about myself or things that I thought that love would solve. And lo and behold, it didn’t. So I wrote a song about it,” added the Good 4 U hitmaker.
For those unversed, Olivia’s third studio album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, will release on June 12, 2026.
